What We Do

Fascia & soffit, done right.

The fascia is the board your gutters hang from along the roof edge. The soffit is the panel underneath your eaves. When either fails, water and pests find their way into the roof and attic — so we fix the cause, not just the cosmetics.

Rotted Fascia Repair & Replacement

Soft, peeling, or rotted fascia boards cut out and replaced — so your gutters have something solid to hang from and water stays off the roof edge.

Soffit Replacement

Sagging, stained, or damaged soffit panels swapped for clean wood, aluminum, or vented PVC that protects the underside of your eaves.

Ventilation & Pest-Proofing

Vented soffit and tight fascia keep airflow moving through the attic and shut out birds, squirrels, and wasps looking for a way in.

Why Vertex

Fix the rot. Find the cause.

  • We trace rot back to its source — usually a clogged gutter or poor attic ventilation
  • Vented soffit keeps airflow moving so moisture doesn't get trapped overhead
  • Wood, aluminum, or PVC — matched to your home, explained before we start
  • Done alongside your gutter or roof work to save you a second trip up
  • Owner-operated and local, licensed & insured, with free estimates
Questions

Fascia & soffit FAQ.

What's the difference between fascia and soffit?

Fascia is the vertical board running along the roof edge — it's what your gutters attach to and what you see from the street. Soffit is the horizontal panel tucked underneath, covering the gap between the wall and the roof overhang. Together they finish and protect the roofline.

What are the signs my fascia or soffit is rotting?

Look for peeling paint, soft or crumbling wood, dark water stains, sagging soffit panels, or gutters that feel loose. Pests getting into the attic and visible daylight from inside the eaves are also red flags. If you can push a screwdriver into the board, it's gone.

What causes fascia and soffit to rot?

Almost always trapped water. Clogged or overflowing gutters spill water back against the fascia, and poor attic ventilation lets moisture build up underneath. Over time that constant wetting breaks down wood, invites mold, and opens the door for pests. Fixing the gutters and airflow is part of fixing the rot.

What materials do you use for fascia and soffit?

We work in painted wood, aluminum, and PVC. Wood looks traditional but needs upkeep; aluminum and PVC resist rot and hold up better against moisture with little maintenance. We'll match what's already on your home and walk you through the trade-offs before you decide.

Can you do fascia and soffit with a gutter or roof job?

Yes, and it often makes sense to. Because fascia sits right behind your gutters and under the roof edge, it's far easier and cheaper to repair while we're already up there for a gutter or roof project. We'll flag any rot during the inspection so it doesn't get sealed behind new work.
